System Group holds our first 'Apprentice Meeting' since the reopening of our new HQ
Junior Content Producer Apprentice at System Group
Last week we held our very first System Group 'Apprentice Meeting' within our new Headquarters in Speke. As part of the meeting, we wanted to give our apprentices the opportunity to discuss their apprenticeship journey to date. With many at different stages of their apprenticeship, we wanted to provide guidance and support using the experiences of their colleagues, to the other apprentices. Here is what James had to say about his apprenticeship journey so far...
Why did you choose an apprenticeship?
After graduating from university in 2020 if felt that I had a lot of marketing theory but I felt I lacked a lot of practical marketing skill. So a marketing apprenticeship was the ideal next step for me, it was a place where I could start my career but also gain the practical marketing experience that I felt I needed.
What are the benefits of an apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships have so many benefits such as gaining professional experience, gaining qualifications, and earning a salary while you are doing it. For these reasons apprenticeships are particularly beneficial for anyone starting out and can give anyone a huge advantage when looking to take the next step in their career once they have completed an apprenticeship.
How are you finding your apprenticeship with System Group?
I started at System Group about 8 weeks ago and I am really enjoying it. I work within a very positive and supportive marketing team while also helping and getting support from the wider System Group team. During my first 8 weeks here I have learnt so much about the marketing word but also the logistics industry. I am given a lot of responsibility and the work I am given can be challenging but I get great support from the team and I always free to ask questions and ask for help if I need it.
Would you recommend it to others? Why?
I would definitely recommend an apprenticeship to anyone looking to get a foot in the door of their ideal role and industry. I think anyone who completes an apprenticeship gives themselves a great start to their career. Once they have completed their apprenticeship they will have gained a huge amount of experience in a professional environment.
