Job Title: LGV Driver Trainer

Reports to: Head of Commercial Operations

Salary: £28,000 per annum + benefits


Are you a qualified Driver Trainer with an LGV C+E Driving Licence which you have held for a minimum of three years? Ideally, you will be an NVDIR or NRI qualified LGV Instructor, or you may hold an MoD Defence Driving Instructor Certificate (DLAI) - Ultimately, you want to be rewarded for your expertise and knowledge.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our growing team of experienced Driver Trainers on an employed basis, the role requires excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to plan and organise your own workload.



The role will involve

  • Delivery of LGV learner driving courses to DVSA test standard.

  • Preparing candidates for DVSA LGV driving tests at our onsite DVSA facility or other DVSA regional test centres.

  • Undertaking driver assessments and development of LGV licence holders.

  • Assessing and ensuring that participants have the required skills to effectively and safely perform the driving duties that their role requires.

  • To ensure by use of appropriate teaching methods that participants have a sound knowledge of ‘Highway Code’.

  • Ability to deliver DCPC in line with JAUPT requirements.

  • Supporting, reviewing, designing, and developing driver training and development products.

  • Responsibility for the supervision of course participants and risk assessments, Health & Safety requirements and relevant to Driver or Classroom Training.

  • Achieving and maintaining System Groups quality audit and performance standards.

  • Supporting the development of new ways of delivering training in order to maximise performance and ensure the business demonstrates a continuous learning culture
