MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To provide pastoral support to existing and previous learners engaged in Apprenticeships, and a supportive and motivating environment for Learners to explore their needs, motivations, desires, and skills and assist the individual in making real, lasting change focused on participating in education, training, or employment.
To fully support the growth of the Apprenticeship provision, allowing transparent data and reporting capability. To ensure we react to daily issues in a direct and effective manner, having the data analysis to drive actions.
The role is home-based with occasional travel to training locations and Head Office as required.
KEY EXPERIENCE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver periodic contact to Apprentices, predominantly via telephone engagement to facilitate their progression into education, training or employment.
Identify and provide appropriate support to overcome and barriers support progression into destinations.
Provide mentorship and motivation to engage with learners who may be at risk of leaving their programme of study.
Support learners in setting appropriate participation goals and methods of assessing progress in relation to these goals, where appropriate.
To operate as a Safeguarding Officer within the division, and comply with System Group’s existing Safeguarding Policies and Processes.
To undertake any necessary training and attend relevant forums, webinars and consortiums to ensure effective operation of Safeguarding across the provision.
Accurate recording of destinations in line with internal reporting systems and contractual obligations.
Lead service colleagues and/or providers in making appropriate signposting referrals to specialist support organisations
Build effective working relationships with other services within the locality of provision, local authority and charitable and 3rd sector organisations and Information, advice and guidance contracted service in line with external contracts.
Develop a signposting database for use within the wider business.
Manage a database/spreadsheet which will track the journey from Gateway through to EPA achievement. Linking to the existing Operational tracker and providing compliance data for achievement.
Manage a booking system that will create a forecast which will allow a cross-check v pipeline and the timeliness to achievement. Ensuring an auditable trail of expected EPA activity and compliance data check for ESFA certification.
Support the continuous development of processes and systems to meet all recording and reporting requirements of contractual funding and maximise the achievement of all Learners in a timely manner
Maintain accurate records of contact with learners, utilising internal systems.
Provide management reports with detail on the destinations of learners, including accurate data. Input to any data requests or reports required by the Quality, Compliance, and Operational functions, including presentations to individuals or in meetings as required.
Lead in the collection of feedback from learners over the course of each academic year pertaining to their experience of services within their programme of study.

Such other duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time, which are commensurate with the grade of the job.
To work flexibly with some out-of-hours work. This is mainly planned but in some cases will be at short notice.

Education, Skills & Knowledge:
Experience within the Learning and Skills Sector
Passionate about the opportunities afforded by the Apprenticeship, Adult Education Budget and other associated funding contracts to positively influence the lives of our learners
Knowledge and understanding of Apprenticeships/AEB and eligibility
Ability to work to Ofsted requirements
Confident and assertive with excellent leadership skills
Ability to inspire, challenge and lead learners
Great team player and able to work on own initiative as required
Able to relate to, and develop relationships with staff and learners
Highly motivated and driven to succeed in a rewarding environment
