Job Title: Digital Skills Tutor
Department: AEB
Location: Home-based role
Reports to: AEB Delivery Manager
Salary up to £28,000 + benefits
Job Purpose
To ensure the delivery of outstanding quality learning to young people and adults.
To ensure that the quality improvement systems and processes of the service are consistently applied.
To deliver accredited and non-accredited courses either online or in a classroom environment.
Experience of on-line learning to deliver Digital Skills and ICT qualifications up to Level 2 in Adult Education
To respond to changes in Education Inspection frameworks, Awarding Body or service requirements
Key Responsibilities
To deliver accredited and/or non-accredited courses to a high-quality standard.
To assist in the development of the curriculum.
To induct and assess young people and adults leading to the design of their individual learning.
To be responsible for the training, reviewing, assessment and recording of achievement in line with the Qualification framework and learning programme.
Providing learners with appropriate information, advice, guidance, and support.
Administrative work associated with all the organisation’s operations.
National Qualifications – design, develop, deliver and assess accreditation across a range of occupational areas.
Statistics – provide statistical information as required.
Partnership building and liaison including groups and organisations linked to employability and health and wellbeing.
To develop and be involved with relevant, effective inter-agency work for the benefit of all learners on programme.
To develop and monitor a range of work placement opportunities for adults and young people as part of the learning programme where appropriate
To undertake peer assessment
To participate in personal development, outdoor and residential activities as identified in the learning programmes
Key Accountabilities
Attend regular individual and team meetings including standardisation
Involvement in the development, monitoring and evaluation of the organisation’s systems and procedures and quality assurance
Keeping up to date with new legislation, procedures and techniques and carrying out research where appropriate of different funding opportunities and national initiatives.
Taking reasonable care for the health and safety of him/herself and of other persons who may be affected by his/her activities and where appropriate, safeguarding the health and safety of all persons under his/her control in accordance with the provisions of Health and Safety legislation.
Exercising proper care in handling, operating and safeguarding any equipment or appliances provided and issued by Inspire for the post holder’s individual or collective use in the performance of his/her duties.
To organise and ensure the delivery of the agreed Learning Programme to all learners including Schemes of Work and session plans.
To be responsible for co-ordinating programme and learner journey from tutor start to exit. Collating Batch Headers and control checks of own paperwork including records of leaning, ILP’s and exit paperwork
To provide adults or young people involved in Adult Education Budget with safe and appropriate work placements as part of their progression through their learning programme.
To belong to a subgroup to monitor quality assurance - continuous improvement cycle
To be involved in producing an annual self assessment report
To ensure that all Safeguarding, Prevent and EDI procedures are adhered to and relevant policies and guidelines are followed

Person Specification (E=Essential D=Desirable)
Education and Knowledge
Hold or be working towards a relevant level 3 or above teaching qualification accredited by the QCA (D)
Assessor Qualification (E)
GCSE A - C or equivalent in Math's and English and ICT qualification Level 3 (E)
Understanding of government funded training programmes. (E)
Knowledge of safeguarding and Prevent policies and Procedures (E)
Knowledge of meeting the Common Inspection Framework and quality standards relating to learning (E)
Awareness of health and safety issues and knowledge of health and safety legislation (E)
Knowledge and understanding of Equal Opportunities policies and procedures and methods of widening participation (E)
Effective use of ICT within a learning environment (E)
Experience of effective communication with a wide range of people (E)
Experience of effective team working and knowledge of what makes a good team (E)
Ability to work flexibly within a classroom or online learning environment (E)
