System Group - A Real Living Wage Employer
National logistics training provider System Group today announce its commitment to staff and subcontractors by registering as a real living wage employer.
The specialist training partner who act as an outsourced training team to some of the UK’s biggest logistics brands today released a statement confirming their accreditation and delight at joining the movement alongside household names such as IKEA, Aviva, Chelsea and Everton Football Clubs.
Their Living Wage commitment will see everyone working at System Group, regardless of whether they are direct employees or third-party contracted staff; receive a minimum hourly wage of £8.75 in the UK or £10.20 in London. Both rates are significantly higher than the statutory minimum for over 25s of £7.50 per hour introduced in April 2017.
The real Living Wage is an hourly rate set independently, updated annually and calculated according to the real costs of living. Employers choose to pay this wage on a voluntary basis.

Katherine Chapman, Director, Living Wage Foundation said: “We welcome System Group to the Living Wage movement as an accredited employer. Responsible businesses across the UK are voluntarily signing up to pay the real Living Wage now.”
Living Wage Foundation are a movement of over 3700 UK employers who together want to go further than the government minimum to make sure all their staff earn enough to live on. Katherine continued; “These businesses recognise that the Living Wage accreditation is the mark of a responsible employer and they, like System Group join us, because they too believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.”
System Group hope that other organisations within the transport and logistics sector will take the opportunity to follow-suit in a bid to attract further talent across the wide range of career paths available.
