System Group increases investment and expansion

System Group is proud of the decades it has been delivering high quality driver training in Cumbria and that delivery is going from strength to strength with more opportunities available to local people to benefit more easily from the training.

One such new opportunity arises from the launch of their Driving Ambition Programme in Carlisle. This is a special package offer for candidates to go from their standard full UK car driving licence to an artic licence (Category C+E) in as little as eight weeks! The package is priced at an astonishing £2,900 and finance options are being offered to open this incredible opportunity up to as many as possible.

“There is a massive driver shortage in the UK,” explains System Group Carlisle’s Manager, Emily White. “The crisis of the ageing driver population is not one we should ignore as an effective logistics industry is at the heart of so many other sectors. We want to encourage everyone to consider a career in professional driving and have put together a programme that will hopefully make it a serious possibility for people here.”

An additional, very welcome, feature of the programme is to provide opportunities for successful candidates to get straight into work as professional drivers. The programme has been piloted in the Liverpool area and has been an amazing success with some of the large employers in the area benefiting from the highly trained new drivers.

System Group in Carlisle is operating from their own training and test centre in Kingstown, so it could hardly be handier with transport connections from the M6, A7, and A689 bypass.

“There is so much potential here,” says Dave Crawford, System Group’s Commercial Director. “We are constantly looking for innovative, cost-effective training solutions and the training centre in Carlisle is an ideal platform for this. We have a lot of great, new opportunities in the pipeline for the area so watch this space!”

With all of the new developments that have already been unfolded and all those yet to be announced, there is a great need to recruit in the training centre in Carlisle and across the whole group, both in the office and in the trainers’ department and System Group encourages anyone who is interested to keep an eye out as vacancies are posted.

“We are already looking for individuals who have training experience within the industry, both on the road and in the warehouse, especially those who have experience delivering apprenticeships as the new standards roll out shortly,” Dave continued. “We want to see the industry flourish so we’re investing in its success.”
