Driving Ambition delivers first group of new drivers to B&M
Over 100 new jobs have been created at B&M thanks to Widnes-based driver training program, Driving Ambition. As the UK’s fastest growing variety retailer B&M continue to have fantastic employment opportunities particularly for skilled LGV drivers. Driving Ambition offers each of its fully qualified candidates the opportunity to work alongside retailers such as B&M as part of our promise to place each of our candidates in suitable employment.
This news comes in the wake of our first group of trainees passing our Driving Ambition LGV program. Our introductory offer has recently ended - meaning the first set of 100 candidates who enrolled onto the program for £1,900 have now been placed in LGV driving careers. This incredible offer enabled 100 candidates to train, test and qualify in our Widnes test centre. They are now beginning their journey in full time LGV driver careers, many of which with the well-known retailer B&M.
Driving Ambition offer candidates the opportunity to train and gain their CAT C and C+E licences, which qualifies them to drive large goods vehicles. Our relationship with B&M will now enable even more of our qualified candidates to take up permanent commercial vehicle driving jobs. These candidates will be working full time delivering to a range of B&M stores in the North West.
The average annual LGV driver income is approximately £30,000 a year, meaning those training with Driving Ambition and placed with B&M could be earning this annually. Driving Ambition offer flexible payment plan options to each of its candidates which means for a minimum monthly payment our candidates are investing in a possible £30,000 per annum career. Our unique program is the first of its kind in the North West and now Cumbria, and we have plans to open a network of Driving Ambition test centres across the country.
The structure of the Driving Ambition course allows candidates to gain employment faster than average UK new-pass drivers, that’s how our Widnes test centre gained the label ‘one-stop-shop’. Our training and testing is completed in house with our very own DVSA approved examiners.
Mike Benson, distribution director at B&M, said his company was committed to supporting local employment and spearheading the introduction of newly qualified drivers into the retail transport sector.
At Driving Ambition we maintain our aim is to tackle the UK-wide driver shortage in the logistic and transport sector. Our partnership with B&M will enable newly qualified LGV drivers a tailored introduction into the industry and the course content will allow each candidate to gain the skills needed to become work-ready. At Driving Ambition, we are delighted to offer these opportunities to drivers and help them secure long-term employment with great businesses.
