COURSE OVERVIEW

We have partnered up with the London Ambulance Service to provide FULLY-FUNDED Cat C vehicle training that is necessary in your role as an Assistant Ambulance Practitioner. Guaranteed interview offered upon completion of the course, furthering your clinical training.
Once completing your driver training - both virtual and practical training - and setting yourself ahead in your career aspirations, the London Ambulance Service guarantees you an interview for their Assistant Ambulance Practitioner apprenticeship, furthering your clinical training.
ELIGIBILITY FOR THE COURSE

Must live within the Greater London M25 area

Must be 19 years old or above
-
Must hold your English and Maths GCSE’s at A-C or a Functional Skill at Level 2
-
Must hold a full British driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points

Must be physically fit and able to undertake a demanding job role
COURSE DURATION
5 Weeks
*Duration does not include licence acquisition which can vary depending on availability of DVSA examiners.*
COURSE DETAIL:

Each candidate will attend the course which usually starts on a Monday and runs between 09:30 am and 15:30pm each day for 25 days (Monday to Friday sessions for 25 days)

The course will cover Health and Safety Level 1 which is covered on days 1 and 2.

Then followed by Warehouse and Storage Level 2 which is covered on days 3 to 10.

Then followed by Driver Goods Vehicle Level 2 which is covered on days 11 -25

Each learner will need to complete this learning to progress onto the License acquisition. Each learner will also be booked for a van assessment to sign off the DGV element of the course.

KNOWLEDGE:
The mechanisms of safe, controlled and fuel-efficient driving techniques
All role-related technology and systems including tachograph
Relevant regulation and legislation relating to the role of a professional LGV driver
COURSE OUTCOMES
SKILLS:
Drive safely and efficiently on public and private roads
Proficiently control the vehicle
Prepare the vehicle and the load for deliveries Ensure the vehicle is correctly loaded
Use relevant IT systems appropriately Work closely with suppliers and customers

Take responsibility for their own safety and that of others at all times
Work in a professional manner in relation to timekeeping, personal appearance and dress code.

ASSESSMENT
As part of your qualification, you will complete an End-Point Assessment (EPA). In short, this assessment will help you to showcase the skills, knowledge and behaviours you have developed through the programme. It will consist of:

For the final grade, you can achieve either a Pass or Distinction.
PROGRESSION
On successful completion of the driving element of the course with System Group, learners will be guaranteed an interview with London Ambulance Service to continue training as an Assistant Ambulance Practitioner.
