APPRENTICESHIP

EXPERTS

WHAT IS AN APPRENTICESHIP?

As a paid apprentice you will learn the skills of your trade - combining off the job tutoring with industry specific skills and nationally recognised qualifications.

At System Group we have years of experience, providing our learners with help, support and the practical skills that are required to succeed in the work place. There are also targets and regular checks to ensure your employer is supporting you and your progress. Apprenticeships are open to all individuals above 16 years old, living in the UK and not already in full time education.

An apprenticeship can vary in duration from 12 months to 4 years, dependent upon the course you choose - for further information simply click any of the career categories above.

And remember, with an apprenticeship you earn while you learn - so no student loans to repay!

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Get a head start in a field you want to work in: you won't be turned down due to lack of experience; instead you can grow your career from day one.

Gain nationally recognised qualifications: as well as experience you'll gain qualifications which will match what your employer wants.

Earn a wage: you will earn the national minimum wage for apprentices.

Become a valued employee, receive holiday pay and in some cases, study leave: from day one you will enjoy any of the perks that come from being employed.

Work with experienced colleagues: your colleagues will be experienced and successful in their field so you can learn from them as well as from the training you'll receive.

Try something completely new: With a range of roles available, you can try something you’ve always fancied or something you’d have never thought of before.

Get experience for your CV: An apprenticeship will look great on your CV. It shows you have experience, appropriate skills and a willingness to work.

Increase your employability: An apprenticeship will help you build your confidence and you will get job specific skills that will make you more employable.

GOVERNMENT LEVY

EXPLAINED FOR EMPLOYERS

The Apprenticeship levy is a training budget that is ring-fenced to subsidise the cost of delivering ‘apprenticeship’ work based learning and professional development programmes to any employees based in England for more than 50% of their working hours. Any employer with a pay bill of £3m or more pays 0.5% tax into the levy to generate their budget, which is overseen by the Education and Skills Funding Agency.

The levy now represents the largest training budget that L&D teams have ever had and puts the employer in the driving seat, in terms of how and with whom they invest these funds.

The levy was introduced to drive a major commitment to improving quality and excellence of training and CPD within the workplace, providing an opportunity for employers and their chosen providers to work collaboratively to design and develop tailored and flexible learning & development solutions.

The levy and apprenticeships model can be aligned to your existing training function to provide an overall strategic L&D offer, supporting the attraction of new talent, succession plans, skills shortages, continuous improvement and growth.

To find out how you can do this, get on touch to arrange a non-committal, exploratory discussion with one of our specialist Apprenticeship Levy Consultants.
