This course is for organisations who require the capacity
to assess their LGV Drivers using their own in-house assessors.
Course Content Pre-Study Module
- Part A
Covers The Driving Standards Agency Large Goods Vehicle Driving
Manual and The Highway Code
- Part B
Covers theoretical elements of assessment and teaching practice
from The Driving Instructors Handbook
The pre-course study module is designed to raise candidates' knowledge
of safe road procedure to a level which facilitates maximum benefit
being derived from the Assessors Course.
Theoretical Element
Subjects Include:
- Pre-study module evaluation and marking
- Road traffic accidents - recognising the causation factors
- The role of the Assessor
- Principles and methods assessments
- Reporting - methods, data uses
- Role play - simulation techniques
- Fault identification / analysis

Driving Ability
Candidates will undertake an Individual Formative Assessment. This
will form the basis of each candidate's driving ability training.
The standard expected will be validated on the final day and will
be set at a level of six driving faults; no serious or dangerous
faults are admissible.

Note: some evening study may be required.
