A1 NVQ Assessor
This qualification will be suitable for you if you
assess S/NVQ candidates using a range of assessment methods. It
replaces the old D32/D33 and our programme will equip you with the
full range of skills required by the NVQ assessor.
About this qualification
This unit-based award assesses someone's competence (that is the
skills, knowledge and understanding they have) in a work situation.
It consists of an individual unit taken from the Learning and Development
national occupational standards.
How do I achieve this qualification?
To achieve this qualification you must prove that you have the
skills, knowledge and understanding detailed in the unit of competence.
Your assessor will judge, from your evidence, whether you have demonstrated
the skills, knowledge and understanding to the necessary standard.
You do not have to pass a written exam or have any previous qualification,
learning or experience to be able to take this qualification, however,
you will be expected to have a reasonable standard of literacy,
numeracy and occupational competence in the area you are assessing.
Assess candidates using a range of methods
Unit A1 is broken down into four elements, each with its own title
describing the tasks to be carried out. Unit A1 contains four elements:
- A1.1 Develop plans for assessing competence with candidates
- A1.2 Judge evidence against criteria to make assessment decisions
- A1.3 Provide feedback and support to candidates on assessment
decisions
- A1.4 Contribute to the internal quality process
