Apprenticeships
Welcome To The Driving Goods Vehicles Apprenticeships
Web Page
What does an Apprenticeship in Driving Goods Vehicles involve?
You will be employed by a company who operate goods vehicles. Following
initial assessment to match your skills and experience to the appropriate
qualification and level, you will build a portfolio based on 'real
work' activities to achieve your qualification. A System Group assessor/trainer
will visit you in the workplace to provide support and carry out
assessment in the working environment.
Where might I work and what tasks might I carry out?
Opportunities exist in small or large haulage firms, construction
firms, equestrian-based businesses, etc - in fact, any business
that operates goods vehicles as part of their remit.
What skills should I have?
Being good with your hands, the ability to follow instructions,
working as part of a team and, when necessary, being capable of
working alone are all essential skills in this occupation.
What are the entry requirements?
There are no set academic entry requirements for Apprenticeships
and we actively encourage applications from under-represented groups.
Why choose vocational training?
- To gain hands on experience and key skills, which are useful
in the job market.
- To achieve a nationally recognised qualification (highly valued
by employers) and progress to a higher level of qualification
at your own pace.
- You can join a course at any time throughout the year.
