ADR Requirements

Transport operators must ensure all drivers carrying dangerous goods via road must hold an appropriate ADR Certificate to comply with the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods regulations. In turn, drivers of dangerous goods must take responsibility to protect their licence. If the transport of dangerous goods is a regular occurrence, the organisation must also appoint a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA).Goods classified as dangerous include:

  • Class 1: Explosive Substances
  • Class 2: Gases
  • Class 3: Flammable Liquids
  • Class 4: Flammable Solids
  • Class 5: Oxidising Substances, including Organic Peroxides
  • Class 6: Toxic Substances
  • Class 7: Radioactive Material
  • Class 8: Corrosive Substances
  • Class 9: Miscellaneous ADR Goods

Our Methodology

Alternatively we offer a full DGSA consultancy service.

Benefits

Transport operators that ensure compliance with ADR legislation not only avoid legal penalties, but with our high quality training approach can reduce the number of accidents within their workplace and as a result lower insurance premiums.
