System Training’s Driver CPC Consortium is a means for large transport businesses to access market leading, quality Driver CPC course materials and training.

Members of the consortium are able to access a suite of standard courses specially designed to be tailored to suit individual businesses, whilst providing a cost efficient result. By avoiding centre and course registration fees and time spent developing courses that may be identical to those produced by other businesses, members are also able to benefit from shared best practice of all other businesses.

Course materials are available to be delivered in-house by members’ own instructors, who are supported, audited and benchmarked against peers to ensure they comply with System training’s quality standards.

Driver CPC Courses

All courses can be delivered by System Training, or by instructors trained through the Driver CPC consortium.

Developed in partnership with Department for Transport, START aims to embed uniform standardisation across the industry. This course covers aspects of legislation, health and safety, driver health and the social environment of road transport. It has been developed for uses as a driver induction programme.  Benefits include the knowledge that new starters have been given a thorough induction in to the company and awareness of essential legislation. It is useful for organizations developing their suitable corporate and social responsibility policy.

A – Customer Care

Suitable for all drivers with a customer facing role, this course enables drivers to understand how they can help to enhance their company image, improve their standards of service and understand how to deal appropriately with customer enquiries. Responsibility lies with both the employer and employee to remain compliant. Ensuring drivers know the rules regarding rest breaks and working hours helps to develop a culture of safety and compliance, leading to a reduction in tachograph offences, and corresponding costs.

E – Manual Handling

Most back injuries are caused by heavy or awkward lifting, and are a major cause of low performance within a job role. This cause is aimed at all employees, and creates awareness of how to lift in a correct and safe manner, without causing damage to themselves or others, and reducing costs associated with absenteeism related to back pain.  Suitable for inclusion as part of a Corporate and Social responsibility programme.

F – First Aid

Drivers spend a great deal of time working alone in a high risk environment with machinery and chemicals. The First Aid Driver CPC course is ideally suited for any driver. Covering a basic level of First Aid, candidates learn techniques such as resuscitation and CPR, gaining vital minutes in the wait for the emergency services in the event of an accident. Suitable for inclusion as part of a Corporate and Social responsibility programme.

G – Health and Safety

The course aims to help candidates identify and eliminate potential hazards in the workplace, with particular regard to vehicles. Providing practical advice to create an awareness of the safety culture within their own businesses, the course content also covers slips, trips and falls, and other workplace related accidents, ultimately creating a responsible workforce who considers the consequences of their actions.
