Albert Webdale, one of our Motor Vehicle apprentices, has had a dream week of work experience at the final round of the World Rally Championship in Wales last weekend. Sixteen-year-old Albert from Cliburn is completing a motor vehicle Fast Fit Apprenticeship with us and was fortunate to be offered the opportunity by Carlisle-based tyre manufacturer DMACK Tyres.

The latest generation of the famous Stobart trucking family has taken to the road after passing his lorry driving test and gaining his heavy goods vehicle licence. Twenty-year-old Edd Stobart, son of Stobart Group Chief Operating Officer William Stobart, was trained by System Training and passed his test first time.

Edd continues the Stobart road haulage dynasty and follows in the wheel tracks of his uncle, the late Edward Stobart, who grew the Eddie Stobart trucking business into the iconic company we know today.

System Training, the UK’s largest logistics training provider, unveiled its new state-of-the-art truck simulator at the Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC in Birmingham.
 
The new simulator will help make driver training more sustainable, affordable and help attract greater numbers of young people, including female drivers, via Apprenticeships, into the logistics industry. In addition the modern technology will help deliver Driver CPC courses and SAFED (Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving) training to help businesses reduce their fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
 
The simulator, one of two ECA FAROS machines with a combined value of £120,000, represents a significant investment by System Training supported by the Skills Funding Agency.

Managing results
