System Training, the UK’s largest logistics training provider, is set to unveil its new state-of-the-art truck simulator when the machine takes centre stage during the company’s first ever visit to the Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC in Birmingham.
 
System Training believes the new simulator will help make driver training more sustainable, affordable and help attract greater numbers of young people, including female drivers, via Apprenticeships, into the logistics industry. In addition the modern technology will help deliver Driver CPC courses and SAFED (Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving) training to help businesses reduce their fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

Work has started on a £1 million investment by System Training to expand and improve the training facilities at its Carlisle headquarters. The expansion will allow the newly-enlarged business to deliver a greater number of Apprenticeships to young people nationally and continue to provide driver training services to many of the UK’s largest supermarkets and transport operators.

The six-month construction work will see more teaching rooms being added to the site as well as bespoke practical training facilities to allow a more hands-on training approach for Apprentices.

Limited funded driver training available

System has a limited supply of short term funding available for immediate use.

The funding covers many types of logistics training, including Driver CPC training courses, new licence acquisitions and licence acquisitions, ADR (dangerous goods) and fork-lift truck training.

Other courses are available but the funding will only last for a short period of time and is on a first come first served basis.

Leading logistics industry training provider System Training has today lifted a coveted prize at the UK Warehousing Association Awards.
 
System Training collected the UKWA Training Award for its work to improve skill levels across the sector and to help drive down costs through innovative training schemes.
 
Held at the Dorchester Hotel in London, the awards ceremony recognised excellence in the third party logistics sector and attracted entries from some of the most influential companies in the logistics and materials handling industry.

An innovative new partnership between local authorities and leading businesses in the logistics industry has been launched in a bid to boost the economy in Cumbria.

The Cumbria Logistics Employer Forum (CLEF) has been set up to bring a range of organisations involved in the important economic sector together and offer a platform to help increase and strengthen the logistics skills pool in the region. The forum will focus on developing the area’s workforce through proven schemes such as the government’s Apprenticeships for young people and already over 30 local businesses have signed up to benefit from the framework and support.

Two of the leading companies involved in the logistics industry have formed a strategic partnership to drive up the standard of training available in the sector.

Carlisle-based System Training, part of Logistics Academy North West, and Germany’s MAN Group have joined forces to provide training solutions that comply with the recently-introduced Driver CPC legislation, which became mandatory in September 2009.  As well as a driving licence, lorry and bus & coach drivers who drive professionally must now hold a Certificate of Professional Competence, which is renewable every five years.

Managing results


Our aim is to provide you with a comprehensive resource of information and data. You can easily match your criteria by sorting and filtering your search results. These tools can be found opposite at the top of the results list.


Filtering your results
